PERCEPTIONS is a three-year EU-funded project that brings together an inter- and multidisciplinary consortium of 25 partners from twelve European and three non-European countries. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020.
The PERCEPTIONS project aims to identify and understand narratives, imaginations and (mis-) perceptions of the EU – held outside of Europe – and the way they are distributed via various channels. Furthermore, we investigate how the information flow might be distorted and how false narratives might lead to security threats.
PERCEPTIONS will create evidence-based tool-kits of creative and innovative measures for policymakers to react or counteract on different perceptions, considering social, societal and structural aspects. PERCEPTIONS also aims to support first-line practitioners, as well as migrants, and to protect (potential) migrants by creating trusted communication contents and communication channels and by countermanding “false” and dangerous narratives that may lead to the exploitation of vulnerable groups.
You can find more about the project and the ongoing at the 2nd PERCEPTIONS Newsletter.
